Welcome Classmates!

"Anyone caught chewing gum will get detention!"
- Mother Marie Françoise, Prefect of Discipline -

In the fall of 1965, approximately 420 young adults entered Bishop McDevitt High School to begin a new chapter in their lives.  Some were fearful about entering those red doors, while other were ready to kick them in and take on the world.  Many of us were anxiously thinking “How is this all going to play out?”

Over the next four years we would learn in the classroom and out of it how current world events, ancient history, science, proper syntax and our new friends would impact and further shape our futures. This website is about our continuing story.

Here you can have fun corresponding and getting reacquainted with old friends who have moved away or disappeared from your life with the passage of time. That's our central focus and why this website was conceived and built. We've reached “that age” when travel to events is not always easy due to cost, distance, bad timing, family constraints and all sorts of other reasons.

This is the place for our classmates to come together, share memories, and stay connected. Our aim is

to provide a platform for the Class of 1969 to stay in touch, organize picnics, luncheons, reunions and other gatherings; all to support each other. Join us in reliving the moments that shaped our lives and celebrating the unique bond we share.

Here you can post to the Crusader Forum – our message board – where you can tell everyone your recollections, upload photos from our school days and ask questions about all things McDevitt from way back when through to today. You can even start a poll about any topic.

The commonality of our experiences at 2200 Market Street should be paramount to the Crusader Forum. This site is for enjoyment. There are a number of alternatives out there for expressing other opinions. So please stay with the preferred central topic of our shared experiences in Marian, Tracy, Aquinas and St. John's Halls; not to mention McDevitt Field.  Any school associated activities that took students off campus are open to discussion as well.

The Crusader Forum can be used to form sub-groups for a variety of reasons, such as specific interests or hobbies. You will be able to share thoughts, anecdotes and photos within the group.

When enough interest has been generated or shown for the establishment of a sub-group, the Site Administrators will provide that for your use.  Just use the Contact form to let us know.

When posting to the Crusader Forum please be polite and use your manners. Everyone is expected to adhere to the Golden Rule and be mindful that although we are just using words, they can still hurt.

Please refrain from volatile topics like religion and politics. While they are an integral part of our lives, that's not the relaxed experience we want to provide here. Oh, and keep it clean. Don't tempt “Mom” to berate you in public.

Optionally you can also connect directly with anyone who has registered using our email system. The recipient will not see your email address. Your emails will have an address using the domain name from this site.  So, start catching up on what's happened since graduation.

As part of our security protocols to protect everyone's privacy, no one else can read the direct person-to-person email messages, not even the Site Administrators.

Our website, mcdevitt69hbg.org was created exclusively for fellow alumni and those who attended Bishop McDevitt in the Class of '69, but may not have graduated with us.
